Beer Cocktails: Hokkaido Black Velvet

black-velvet.jpg

The original Black Velvet, made with Champagne and Guinness is said to have been first consumed in London’s Brooks’s Club, in 1861, to mourn the death of Prince Albert. In our Hokkaido variant, we substitute our wonderful apple or grape ales for the champagne and our own Otaru Stout for the Guinness. The fruit beer offers a fun twist on the classic.

INGREDIENTS

INSTRUCTIONS

Combine half Otaru Stout and half fruit beer, starting with the fruit beer and then pouring the Otaru Stout in over the back of a large rounded spoon.
